What is this?
Hi. My name is Gary. I’m a South African, now living in Sweden. I’m an award-winning technologist, who built a lot of software in SA, mostly for our banks. Here’s my thinking…
So I’m a South African, who loves our country, and now lives in Sweden. By the estimates I could find online it seems there are over 1 million people like me – South Africans now living abroad.
I recently started trying to find other South Africans who are also here in Sweden, and didn’t like the tools that I could find that would help me do this, so thought I’d launch this site to “test the waters” to see if I’m the only one who wishes something better existed.

Find other South Africans
What if we could easily find other South Africans who live near us? Based on location. Interests. Events. What if this was incredibly easy to do?
Build a Network
I’m not sure what this means or looks like yet. But we should look after each other. If we have a common platform where we all are, then we can at least figure this out and brainstorm and come up with ideas and plans.

How will this work?
This site is not about making money. There will never be a “business model” behind this. No subscriptions. No charges. Always free. This is not a business, this is a cause.
Security and privacy are 100% guaranteed. This needs to be a safe space.
Freedom of speech, but not a place to have conflicts. There are plenty of social media platforms that exist for that.
To start with, let’s see how many people sign up, and where they are. Once we have a community, let’s talk about next steps and what sort of functionality we want here. Everyone’s privacy will always be respected. No details shared ever unless people specifically opt-in and choose to do so.
